Bob
Moorhouse is a retired General Manager and current member of the
Board of Directors of the Pitchfork
Land and Cattle Co. of Guthrie and Benjamin, Texas and also in Eskridge,
Kansas where commercial Hereford and Crossbred cattle are raised,
as well as Quarter Horses for ranch use. Bob was the manager for the Pitchfork
Ranch from 1986 to 2007.
Bob
was born November 6, 1947 in Knox City, Texas to J.C. (Togo) and
Lucille Moorhouse. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University,
receiving a B.S. degree in Animal Business.
He
is a director of Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers where he
serves on the TSCRA Labor Committee, a director of the American
Quarter Horse Association, serving on the Marketing Committee,
superintendent of the West Texas Fair and Rodeo Hereford show
in Abilene, Texas, member of the Ranching Heritage Association
in Lubbock, Texas and a Director of the Working Ranch Cowboys
Association in Amarillo, Texas.
A
collection of Moorhouses photographs has become the American
Quarter Horse Heritage Center and Museums first traveling exhibit.
It has traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe,
entitled "Hoofbeats on the Pitchfork Ranch". He has also been
published in various publications including, The Cattlemen, Western
Horseman, Quarterhorse Magazine, American Cowboy, Range Magazine
as well as other publication. Bob became interested in photography
18 years ago. Knowing he had the best subject matter he became
interested in capturing a pictoral chronicle of the cowboy way
of life. His photography hangs in various major oil companies,
businesses and private offices and homes.
He
and his wife Linda have two daughters Amy and Keri Ann.
